Director Powell provided follow-up on the Willow Street project and a subsequent neighborhood meeting that was held. There was no support for the bike lanes, and there was support for disconnecting 8th Street. We're proceeding with final design, assuming the existing section, two through lanes, two parking lanes, parking on both sides, and we'll come up with a design to disconnect 8th Street on the south side of Willow. Mayor Hoyt addressed: citizen comments, the City's policy of five minutes speaking time, the Council's work session discussion to hold comments to five minutes, and the noise, water usage, and distances from property lines to the proposed data center. Both the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, among other agencies, will need to weigh in on regulations that have to be adhered to on the proposed project. The City's commitment is not only to our Farmington residents but to the residents of Castle Rock to the east of this proposed project to make sure that the project is done properly.
