To the City of Farmington:
This is in regards to a citation sent to us regarding water use restrictions, which we
would like to appeal. We were not watering our lawn. My husband, Pat Hudak, was
testing the irrigation system after having been turned off for the winter. He had it on for
no more than 10 minutes, as he was checking the sprinkler heads to see if they were
working. One of the main reasons we had the sprinkler system put in our yard was so that
it would be easier to comply with the watering restrictions. We like to have our yard look
nice and felt this was one way to keep it watered. I wish that whoever drove by and saw
the water going would have stopped by and talked to him about it, so this could have
been avoided. It would help build good feelings between the citizens of Farmingtori and
the city, instead offeelings of frustration.

Dear Lee Mann:
I am writing this letter on behalf of the Sherbourne Deckhomes Association in regards to
their automatic underground sprinkler system. Their system is not set up on an odd/even
desig~ and last year we asked permission to run the system on three days a week. We
are this year asking for the same permission. The water ran earlier in the morning, and
only 3 days a week, so it was less than an odd/even cycle.
This year we are planning on running the sprinkler system for Sherbourne Association on
Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. We are planning on starting the water at 2:00 A.M.,
and running each zone for 30 - 40 minutes each. The latest the sprinklers would run in
the day would be 11 :00 AM. So we would not be in violation of the no watering from
noon to 6:00 P.M. We chose these days due to not watering every day & not watering on
garbage & mow days. In future years we may need to change the days it runs due to
mowing and/or garbage schedules, but we will inform you in writing before anything is
done.
