I am contesting to this citation that I received due to the fact that there were two
odd days in a row. I am sure that a lot of people did the same thing. I apologize for
watering my lawn today. I just assumed since yesterday was an odd day that today would
be an even day. I was not thinking that there was 31 days in May.
My life is very busy being a mother of a ten month old and a two year old plus
going to college full time. Sorry to say it, but the last thing on my mind is if it is an odd
or even day. I have fInals coming up within the next week and a half and that is stress
enough. I feel that a verbal warning should be given first before you make a citation. I
understand that it is an important issue for the city but I did not mean any harm by it.
Please accept my apology.

To Whom it may concern,

I was cited for water Use Restriction on June 5 at 0815. I am appealing this
citation; reason being that Systematic Rain Inc. arrived at 0805 on June 5th
to do my sprinkle system spring start up. I sprinkle business truck was in
front of my house and the city employee that was working that day should
of noticed this and took it into consideration.
I have attached the receipt to verify this. There was no watering going on,
he was just checking each one of the zones and if I were to guess on time
the water ran; not even 5 minutes.
. I would like you to take this into consideration, that 1 was NOT watering my
grass on a restriction.

Odd/Even Water Use Restrictions:
. Properties with even numbered addresses can water on even days before 12:00 noon and after
6pm and odd numbered addresses can water on odd days before 12:00 noon and after 6:00 pm.
. No lawn, garden, landscape sprinkling, or other irrigation is allowed between noon and 6pm. (This
includes adjusting and/or testing irrigation systems.)
. Twenty-one day daily watering permits for new seed or sod are available at the Maintenance Facil-
ity (19650 Municipal Drive) or at City Hall (325 Oak Street). Properties with daily watering permitso
can water every day for three weeks before 12:00 noon and after 6:00 pm.
. Hand watering (with an attended hose) of flowers and plants is not normally restricted.
. Children's water toys (when in use by children) are not normally restricted.

Earth Friendly Lawn Ei- Yard Care Tips....
. Don't allow sprinklers to run unattended.

. Water lawns in the morning. As much as 30% of water can be lost to evaporation by watering the
lawn during midday.
. For a lush green lawn, water three times a week applying about 1/2 inch at a time. Adjust your
watering schedule accordingly when it rains.
. Avoid watering when windy or in the heat of the day.
. Lawns that are frequently aerated absorb water better.
. Forget about watering streets, walks and driveways. They don't grow a thing.
. Let your grass grow to about 1-1/2 to 2 inches in the summer, and water loss will be reduced
because the blades will provide shade for the roots.
. Most established lawns only need fertilizing in the fall when the primary grass root growth occurs
with the cool temperatures.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
Tuesday, August 2
Tuesday evening, August 2, 2005, neighborhoods
throughout Minnesota and the nation will turn on their
outside lights to show support for National Night Out
(NNO). NNO is designed to strengthen neighborhood
spirit and police-community partnerships, and send a
message to criminals letting them know neighbor-
hoods are organized and fighting back.
Farmington neighborhoods can also show support by
organizing a neighborhood celebration. Please use the
