MINUTES
WATER BOARD
REGULAR.
JUNE 28, 1993
1. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Shirley.
Members Present: Shirley, Sauber, Wier.
Members Absent: None.
Also Present: City Engineer/Public Works Director Kaldunski.
2. MOTION by Shirley, second by Wier to approve the minutes of the May meeting
as presented. APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
3. The Wausau Supply proposal for overs1z1ng of the water main in order to
provide sprinkling was discussed. MOTION by Wier, second by Shirley to defer
any action until actual costs were known. APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
4. MOTION by Wier, second by Shirley to request that the City share in the
costs of oversizing the water main in an amount equal to the usual acreage
fee for development. APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
5. The approval of the "Kitz Type 600" full bore valve was reported by
Mr. Kaldunski. This valve will be added to the approved list of valves for
water meter installation.
6. There was an update on meter installation given by Mr. Kaldunski. There
was some discussion on organization for reading meters. No action was taken.
7. A review of pending and upcoming projects was presented by Mr. Kaldunski.
Mention was made that by the time all of the projects are completed, at least
one new well will be required and a start on a water storage system will be
required.
8. The update on copper and lead testing was presented. The system meets
all governmental standards. The report was accepted as presented.
9. MOTION by Shirley, second by Sauber to pay the bills in the amount of $16,878.45.
APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
10. Member Wier reported being contacted by Caroll Westenberg regarding his
being either warned or ticketed for watering in off hours. He wished to request
consideration of the fact that his system was installed to conserve water.
No action was taken. It was suggested that Mr. Westenberg be notified to send
a written request for consideration of an exception to the sprinkling ban.
11. The meeting was adjourned.
