WATER BOARD
REGULAR
NOVEMBER 22, 1993
1. The meeting was called to order by Chair Shirley.
Members Present: Shirley, Sauber, Wier.
Also Present: Assistant City Engineer Matthys.
2. MOTION by Shirley, second by Wier to approve the minutes of
the October 25, 1993 meeting. APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
3. An update of person who have not installed water meters at
given locations was presented. A motion was made to send certified
letters to selected locations to remind customers of the need for
meters and conditions. Some locations would not be notified because
of various circumstances. The motion was dropped. The Board,
by consensus, requested that the Public Works Director send a letter
to the affected individuals. MOTION by Wier, second by Saub~r
to refund money paid for meters after the October due date until
December 20, 1993. Meters are to be furnished without charge until
December 20, 1993. APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
4. MOTION by Shirley, second by Sauber to hire Dick Nordling as
meter reader, with stipulations for salary, hours and so on to
be followed per the advertisement for the position. APIF, MOTION
CARRIED.
5. Meter hardship cases were referred to the Finance Director
and he was instructed to work out the details for installation
and payment.
6. MOTION by Wier, second by Shirley to approve the purchase of
a trench shoring box at a cost of $3,000, to be purchased for the
Public Works Utility Department. APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
7. MOTION by Shirley, second by Wier to authorize insulation of
the service line at 510/512 Linden Street. APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
8. MOTION by Wier, second by Sauber to approve personnel training.
APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
9. MOTION by Wier, second by Shirley to approve the bills in the
amount of $11,219.89. APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
10. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
