MINUTES
WATER BOARD
REGULAR
October 26, 1998
1) The meeting was called to order.
Members Present: Chair Shirley, Wier, Krueger
Also present: Engineer Mann, Finance Director Roland, Engineer Rolfs
2) The agenda was approved.
3) The minutes for September 28, 1998 were approved with the following amendment - 4A should have
second sentence omitted.
4) Continued discussion items:
a) Water reservoir was discussed at length. Penalties for incomplete work were discussed but
discussion was deferred until next meeting.
b) Radio read implementation was discussed. The software for radio read does not work with
present reading units. They will need replacement. More hand held units will be needed. A
complete record of commercial meters is needed.
c) Concerning generator for well units, specifications are nearly complete. Water department
usage of generator is okay. Will not be usable for sewer. No action needed.
d) A motion was made by Krueger, second by Shirley to purchase well site of lot 1, block 1,
Charleswood development from Genstar Land Company. Motion carried.
e) The Dakota County Ground Water Study on April testing was received but not analyzed at
this time. No action needed.
5) The report concerning changing assessment policy for water main installation. No action needed.
6) The financial report was received and discussed.
7) A motion was made by Krueger to pay bills in the amount of $13,039.86. Second by Shirley. Motion
carried.
8) Items discussed at open forum:
a) A request was received from Ruth Kuchera for a refund on fees paid for a recent water hook
up. There was no record that these fees had been paid previously so request was not approved.
Policy is to be followed.
b) A request for reimbursement for clothes damaged by rust was received from Jodi Pietsch in
the amount of $35.00. The request was approved with the requirement of sales slip showing cost
of clothes and item of clothing turned in when reimbursement is made.
